 Bed Hair

Definition: what your hair looks like when you first get out of bed in the morning.

I have great bed hair. I’ve even given people the giggles when they see me first thing in the morning.

I’ve read on the net, you can buy hair styling tools and gels and stuff that can give you a great bed hair look any time you want one.

Now why would anyone want to look like they’d just got out of bed when they go to work?

Wouldn’t that just give it away to the boss – “hey look at me, I’ve just gotten out of bed”.

You can even buy products that keep your bed hair in place all day

You can buy bed hair tools.

 Sexy office hair

"'She didn't... Did she?' - be the centre of office gossip with super sexy 'just got out of bed' hair. Use Andrew Collinge messed up moulding gum to create a ruffled, tousled style with lasting hold that's guaranteed to get tongues wagging."

So it’s supposed to be sexy to look like you’ve just got out of bed and haven’t brushed your hair. So there’s one more morning task I can stop doing. I don’t have to brush my hair. And if my boss says anything, I’ll just quote this at her.

Funny, my bed hair doesn’t look at all like that. Mine looks more like this

 I do not understand

I don’t understand this outpouring of grief at the death of public figures.

Another public figure died today. This time is was Peter Brock, a famous racing car driver. Last week, Steve Irwin died, a figure that many American’s know. I don’t know either of these people. I’ve never met them. I feel a small sadness for their families and those close to them. That’s all. On the news we are seeing constant pictures of grieving people. People who never met these men. Why do some people feel such strong emotion when someone like this dies? It was the same when Princess Diana died. People were shocked. Yes. So was I. She was very young. But I did not feel inconsolable grief. What we see is people who are devastated by grief for a public figure they have never met. How can people have such strong feelings for someone they’ve never met.

 I simply do not understand.

 Time Warp

Sitting here in the dark. Cars passing on their way to wherever. Power is out. No computer, no lights, no tv. Just a torch and my tick tock clock. People passing. No one knows. Interesting how the world goes by, the world continues, even while things are happening in all the houses that they pass. I’m writing this, not typing. No computer.

No matter what happens in people’s lives, in the individual houses, life goes on.

I remember sitting in the hospital, living in my own little time warp. I remember leaving the hospital and being surprised that while I was in my time warp, the world had continued without me. Weird feeling. I have a similar feeling tonight. Like I am in a time warp. My time has temporarily stopped; but the world goes on around me. People passing. No one knows I’m in my time warp. My life has temporarily stopped. Except my tick tock clock. It still keeps going.

Everything I do takes electricity. So my world momentarily stops. The world keeps passing my house. No one knows. Time to go to bed and read a book by my trusty torch. In the hospital, time warp felt like life was passing me by. This is different. In this time warp, I see people passing my house, but don’t feel like life is passing me by. Just that my life has momentarily stopped.
